In our attempt to understand World War I, we have begun All Quiet on the Western Front. Some critics have called it the “greatest war novel of all time.” By the end of the novel, we will see how many students agree with this assessment. Students are annotating as they read, looking for the answers to questions about what war does to individuals and to generations.
