Each year, there is a nationwide competition for students called “Letters About Literature.” In Illinois, the Secretary of State runs the program. Students chose a book that had a profound impact on them, and then write a letter to the author explaining why the book was so meaningful. This year, we had several students selected as semi-finalists and finalists in the competition.
