Shakespeare’s New Words

Many scholars estimate that Shakespeare created one out of every twelve words in his plays and poem.  He did this by adding prefixes and suffixes, turning nouns into verbs, and creating entirely new word combinations.

We have an unfortunate practice in our class of students tipping their chairs back in a dangerous fashion.  We came up with new words for this practice.  Check them out below.
