Document-Based Questions

The eighth grade began working on Document-Based Questions (DBQs) this week.  When writing a DBQ, students must use their prior knowledge and historical documents to craft an essay about history.  DBQs are part of all AP history exams.

This week students outlined DBQs about the soldiers stationed at Valley Forge during the Revolutionary War and about the efficacy of the Articles of Confederation.  By the end of the year, students will complete three DBQs that are written at the high school level.
