One of my favorite things about this year’s “Short Shakespeare” production of Romeo and Juliet was the casting of a female Benvolio. This is especially helpful to our students as many of them are taking on roles that would traditionally call for someone of a different gender. We finished reading the play on Wednesday and will begin working on an essay tomorrow.
