In preparation for writing essays, students discussed the values in Ramayana. Many of the issues discussed are still major issues for our culture today. For example, is it okay for Hanuman to destroy Lanka because it is the home of the evil demon Ravana, even if he destroys innocent lives in the process? How does this translate to our current idea of collateral damage?
